European Human Hair Wigs in Los Angeles
European human hair is the finest raw material a wig can be made from. Each strand is slender and soft, it moves the way your own hair moved, and it comes in natural shades from deep brunette to light ash that rarely need heavy coloring. At Tallie Wigs, Tallie works with European, Slavic, Russian and Ukrainian hair, and she examines every bundle by hand before it becomes one of our human hair wigs, toppers or sheitels.
Every piece is fitted in a private room at our shop at 8362 W 3rd St, Los Angeles, a few minutes from Beverly Hills and Cedars-Sinai. If you have been searching for European human hair wigs near me, this is where you can see the hair in daylight, feel its weight, and have it cut and colored on you before you decide.

Why European Hair Looks Like Your Own
Most women who come to us want one thing above all: for no one to know. European hair makes that easier for three reasons.
- Fine strands. European hair is finer in diameter than most hair sold for wigs, so it lies flat at the part and moves lightly instead of sitting in a block.
- Natural color range. Lighter browns, dark blondes and soft ash tones exist naturally in European hair, so a match often needs little or no lightening. Less chemistry means more life in the hair.
- A gentle, believable texture. Straight to softly wavy, it holds a blowout, takes a curl from a hot tool, and relaxes back without frizz.
When the hair is also virgin, meaning never colored, permed or stripped, the cuticle stays intact from root to tip. That is what lets virgin European hair wigs keep their shine and softness for years rather than months. Our virgin human hair wigs collection is where those pieces live.
European, Slavic, Russian and Ukrainian Hair
These names overlap, and you will see them used loosely. Here is how we use them at the shop.
European hair
The umbrella term. It covers hair collected across Europe, including Eastern European hair, which is where most of the finest wig hair comes from today. European hair wigs are the standard many women compare everything else against, and European wigs in human hair are what our most particular clients ask for by name.
Slavic human hair wigs
Slavic hair comes from the Slavic regions of Eastern Europe. It is prized for being fine yet strong, with a silky feel and natural light and medium shades. Slavic human hair wigs, and Slavic hair wigs with a soft wave in particular, are a favorite for clients who want a light, airy wig that still looks full. For the full story, read What Is Slavic Hair?
Russian hair wigs
Russian hair is among the most sought-after hair in the world for wigs. It tends to be soft, slightly wavy and very fine, and it accepts color beautifully (we explain why Russian hair is so prized), which is why a Russian human hair wig, and above all a Russian virgin hair wig, is often the first request from women who have worn human hair wigs for years.
Ukrainian hair wigs
Ukrainian hair shares the fine, silky character of other Slavic hair, often with a natural soft wave. It is less common, and when Tallie finds it, it usually becomes a one-of-one piece.
Product labels in our shop do not list the origin of each wig. Ask at your fitting and Tallie will tell you exactly what hair is in the piece you are trying on.
European Hair for Medical Hair Loss
Many of the women we fit are going through chemotherapy, living with alopecia, or noticing thinning that came on quickly. For them, comfort and privacy matter as much as beauty. A medical wig in European hair is light on a sensitive scalp, and its fine texture looks natural at the hairline, which is the first place anyone would look.
- Chemotherapy. Many clients come before treatment starts, so we can match their color and cut while their own hair is still there. See chemo wigs in Los Angeles.
- Alopecia. Lace top and silk top caps in European hair give a realistic part and scalp, even with complete hair loss. See alopecia wigs.
- Paperwork. A human hair wig made for medical hair loss is often called a cranial prosthesis. We prepare your superbill and help with the claim paperwork, so you may be able to submit a superbill for reimbursement. Each plan sets its own rules, so check with your insurer before your visit. Our cranial prosthesis page explains the steps.
Our guide to European hair wigs for chemo and alopecia explains cap, density and color choices. Our medical wigs page covers every option, from a topper during regrowth to a full cranial prosthesis.
European Hair Toppers
If your thinning is at the part or crown and the sides are still full, a topper may be all you need. European hair toppers blend especially well because fine European strands match the fine hair that usually remains on top. We carry Slavic hair topper and Ukrainian hair topper pieces when Tallie finds the right hair, and every topper is color matched and cut into your own hair at the fitting. For fine, thinning parts, our guide to virgin Slavic hair toppers goes deeper. Browse our human hair toppers or read how we fit them on our hair toppers page.
The European Sheitel
For women who cover, a European sheitel is often the piece that finally feels like their own hair. Fine European hair on a lace top gives a soft, realistic part. For lace top wigs, European hair is our first choice, light enough for a long Shabbat or a full workday. We fit sheitels in private, schedule around Shabbat and Yom Tov, and wash and style the pieces we sell. Visit our sheitels page, and if you have heard the term Israeli wig, our post on what an Israeli wig really means explains why it describes a style, not where the hair grew.
How Tallie Selects Hair
Tallie looks at every bundle in natural light before it becomes a wig. She checks that the cuticles run in one direction, that the ends are full rather than wispy, and that the color is even from root to tip. Hair that does not pass is not used. Each finished piece is one of one, and when it sells, it is gone.
If you want to understand the grades behind those choices, our guides compare Remy, virgin and European hair and explain which hair is best for a wig.
Your Private Fitting
A fitting is one-on-one and unhurried. We measure your head, look at your coloring in daylight, and bring out European pieces that suit you. You can try lace top and silk top caps, compare lengths, and see how the hair moves when you walk. Custom pieces are usually ready in about 1 to 5 business days. Clients come from Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Brentwood, Santa Monica, Malibu, Pasadena and across Orange County, and many travel in from out of state. If you are far away, you can begin with a virtual consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is European hair?
European hair is human hair collected in Europe, much of it from Eastern Europe. It is fine in diameter, soft, and naturally comes in lighter and medium shades, which is why it is considered the finest hair for wigs.
Why is European hair so expensive?
It is rare. Only a small amount of long, healthy, never-colored European hair is collected each year, and sorting it so the cuticles align takes skilled handwork. Because every piece is fitted personally, we share investment details at your Private Fitting.
Why is European hair so thin?
Individual European strands are finer than many other hair types. That is an advantage in a wig: fine hair lies flat at the part, weighs less on the head and moves naturally. Fullness comes from density, which we set when the wig is made.
Is Slavic hair the same as European hair?
Slavic hair is a type of European hair from the Slavic regions of Eastern Europe, including Russia and Ukraine. All Slavic hair is European, but not all European hair is Slavic.
Are European human hair wigs good for chemo patients?
Yes. They are light and soft on a sensitive scalp and look natural at the hairline. We can also prepare a superbill for a cranial prosthesis claim; coverage is decided by your plan.
Do you have European hair toppers?
Yes, when Tallie finds the right hair. Each topper is one of one, color matched and cut into your own hair at a private fitting.
